Delete Your Account

Bodhansh respects your right to control your personal data. You can delete your account and associated data at any time, either directly within the app or by contacting us. This page explains exactly how to do it, what data is removed, and how long it takes.
1. How to Delete Your Account
Delete from within the app
You can delete your account directly from the Bodhansh app by following these steps:
Open Settings
Tap the menu icon (top-left) to open the navigation drawer, then tap Settings.
Tap "Delete Account"
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen and tap the Delete Account button.
Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog will appear warning you that this action is permanent. Tap Delete to confirm.
Account Deleted
Your Firebase authentication account is immediately deleted and all locally stored data is cleared. You will be signed out and returned to the login screen.
This action is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Please make sure you want to proceed before confirming.
2. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

| Push notification token (FCM) | Removed from our servers |
| AI Guide chat history | Cleared from device (stored locally only) |
| Bookmarks & reading progress | Cleared from device (stored locally only) |
| Daily goals & streak data | Cleared from device (stored locally only) |
| Notification preferences | Cleared from device (stored locally only) |
| Language preference | Cleared from device (stored locally only) |
3. What May Be Retained
Certain data that has been shared publicly through the community may be retained for a limited period to maintain the integrity of community interactions:

| Comments on reflections | May remain visible until manually cleaned up by our team |
| Username claim | May remain reserved to prevent reuse conflicts |
| Firestore user profile | Orphaned record; scheduled for periodic cleanup |
Need everything removed? If you want all community content (reflections, comments, username) fully purged from our servers, please contact us at bodhansh.app@gmail.com and we will remove it within 30 days.
4. Processing Time

5. Alternative: Contact Us
If you are unable to access the app or prefer to request deletion by email, you can contact us directly. Please include the email address or phone number associated with your account so we can locate and delete your data.
